I has it. Flatmate loves jrpg, maybe because he's J himself. Aussie dubbing is not as terribad ad I thought it would be.

I got it yesterday at 11:30 AM. Its now 6 AM, and I'm still playing it.

I'm in love. Though I've always been a huge FF fanboy, so this was to be expected, but still.

The game is pretty fucking badass, especially if you regularly play FF games. Twins from FF2 are remembered in this, and that made my penis happy.

TIPS:

1. Its fucking hard to earn money throughout most of the game. There is a part where you are in some ship and only fight humans. This is your first opportunity to farm the shit out of those items that sell for a decent amount of gil. Then use the gil to upgrade weapons to stupid levels and have fun for a while being overpowered.

2. Throughout the game you have battles with the summoned dudes (GFs, Aeons, whatever they call it)... There is one battle however that is extremely difficult (the last one). Here is how to do it easily. Before you fight the summon, you can use one of those Haste bomb things that affect the next battle. TRUST ME AND USE IT. If you want to know specifically which summon I'm talking about, its the dike chicks summon. I forget her name.

3. Switching tactics (whatev its called) mid-battle is essential... but if you want to max out your fighting ability, you need to get used to the intricacies of it. What I am referring to is the fact that if you switch tactics every 10 seconds you somehow bypass the action bar system. So even if your best tactic is already in play and you don't need to switch... switch anyway because it makes everyone able to attack an extra time pretty much.

4. Timing. Timing is fucking important. If you have two people in attacker mode and both have that prop up ability... and both attack at the same time... one of them will more than likely miss. Best to stagger attacks and keep the mob in the air. TIMING TIMING TIMING

5. Missions. Do them. Just fucking do them. You will be weak if you don't. Plus it gives you some goodies like the ability to teleport between the mission givers, and the ability to ride a chocobo.

6. Libra. If you don't use this on every boss you fight you are doing it wrong.

Note: despite having the game for over 3 months, I have yet to finish it. This is cause the battles towards the end with "normal monsters" become fucking long... like literally 5mins per battle... and when you see a bunch of mobs that you know will take that long spread around the area you need to get through... you lose interest.

also. hope is a faggot. FUCK HE IS A FAGGOT I WANT TO KICK HIM IN HIS TINY DICK

I'm actually half way through Chapter 11 atm Grib. I took like, 5 hours straight to go check some side quests (that I could do at least), and did some exploring.

Lets see your checklist!

1: Money in this game IS fucked indeed. I'm doing better at it, but only a little. I'm at around 200,000 atm but that'll disappear instantly once I can finally get this certain item. Money is a bitch!

2: I always sell my Shroud items. Or rather, now I do. I used to use them occasionally, but meh. Usually for the Eidolons I just go in, spam Libra, try it, probably fail, go back in knowing what to do ahead of time, and win. Not so hard anymore when you know you can just spam reset with no consequences. Fun!

3: I havent noticed that glitch, but I do switch alllll the fucking time. I'll check this out later.

4: I'm fuckin mid chapter 11, and STILL figuring out my timing. Sometimes its easy, but sometimes trying to perma juggle something when someone has 4 ATBs, and I have 5, is a pain in the ass.

5: I'm doing missions as I can. Some are fucking scary at my point in the game, but I'm still doing most of them (somehow). One mission took me 8 minutes, and it wasnt even like 1 big mega boss thing. It was a 2 black chocobo looking things, and 7 lil swamp fuckers. 8 minutes. SPAM HEALING cuz they were RAPING Fang, just non stop. Guh. Fuck me.

6: I DO LOL

Thats it for now. I'm gonna go play more. Bye.

1. Yeah I quit shortly after clearing a few areas in chapter 12. You know those huge dinosaur lookin dudes in the chapter 11? Yeah those are everywhere and they take forever to kill. (did you try to fight one at your level? insta-death lol)

2. Until the last summon dude they are all possible to be completed without any assistance (and most are pretty easy). But the last one is just fucking retardedly hard cause of the time limit. Trust me on this one and save a haste thingy.

3. Well this is something that isn't important. Its just a tip.

4. Try to level your characters roles based on ATB. By that I mean fuck everything else like spells or whatever and max out their ATB whenever possible. Then start getting stats/spells they need. Also, while its possible to do it any way you want, I advise just leveling everyone's main roles instead of trying to get their sub-roles. This is purely from a CP vs STATS point of view. The main roles just give so much more bang for buck.

5. Yeah but if you don't do any missions and just go straight for the end of that chapter you will get your ass handed by normal mobs occasionally. And the chocobo riding allows you to hunt for items in the ground. I didn't follow a guide or anything so I dunno if that ends up getting you some super rare shit.

6. good.

ps. I started playing Grandia for PS1. Its fucking fun. I use my ps3 controller and a ps1 emulator on the pc. I'm debating downloading FF8 cause thats one of my favorites.
